    CPT Re-certification

    1. Recertification is based on continued work in the field, adherence to the Code of Ethics, and the accumulation of 40 CPT Recertification Points for Continuing Education (CE), Volunteer Service, and/or Contributions to the field during a three-year period.
    2. CPTs are Certified and Recertified for a Three-Year Period Recertification applications are due on June 15th for those CPTs whose anniversary falls between November 16 and June 15, and on November 15th for those CPTs whose anniversary falls between June 16 and November 15.     To Remain Certified, CPTs Must:

    1. Collect at least 40 Recertification Points in their online profile.
      • Please click here to access your Professional Development Status.
      • You will earn credits by joining selected ISPI events and webinars.
      • Make sure that you click on the check-in link when you join. Only registering does not generate a credit;
      • Otherwise, you can add an entry to your Professional Development to document the participation in other events and webinars.

    2. Pay the CPT Recertification Fee in ISPI online store.

    3. When you meet the above requirement, please send the Recertification Declaration to certification@ispi.org

    4. We will check your submission and update your profile accordingly. 

    How to Earn CPT Recertification Points

    Tracking your Re-Certification Points

    1. Click on your Professional Development summary.
    2. Click on the right menu on Add Entry to add a webinar or conference or volunteer activity.
    3. Add one entry for each activity counting towards your Re-Certification.

    Directions

    1. Is this entry for a Certificate or Program? Select yes
    2. Certification/Program: Select CPT in the first menu
    3. Select the Credit Type based on your activity
    4. Enter the Entry Date like the date of the webinar, or when your started to volunteer
    5. Enter the Description
    6. The number of credit is listed in the pull-down menu: if you joined a webinar (first choice on the top), enter 1 in the Credits field.
    7. You can keep the other fields blank.

    * Please note that after CPT recertification through November 15, 2020, ISPI will no longer be issuing brass plates. A letter confirming your recertification period will be emailed to you, so that you may keep for your records.
    ** If you have retired and want to keep your CPT status there is a one time fee of $100 at the time of your CPT Renewal (where the $175 fee will be waived), otherwise your CPT will be considered expired if not paid.

  • CPT Re-Instatement

    Reinstatement is available to those Certified Performance Technologists who do not recertify within the six-month time period for renewal. In order to reinstate your CPT, you must:

    • Submit 1 project that demonstrates all 10 CPT Performance Standards;
    • Provide attestations for the project;
    • Pay the $395 fee.

    Reinstatement applications are processed through the normal review cycle--CPT double-blind, peer review with tiebreaker, if necessary.
